Morecambe: This statue is a memorial to Eric Morecambe (real name Eric Bartholomew - he took his stage name from this town where he was born), half of the comedy duo Morecambe and Wise. They were most popular comic act of their time - over half the population of the UK (28.8m) watched their 1977 Christmas Show. The lyrics of their signature tune 'Bring me sunshine' http://www.morecambeandwise.com/morecambeandwise_songlyrics.aspx?s=1
